Background

HISTORY OF HOPE CHRISTIAN HOSPITAL

Hope Christian Hospital is a not-for-profit, pro-poor hospital (now a subsidiary of Village

of Hope) established in May, 2002 as a department under the Village of Hope with the aim of

providing health care for just the children and staff of the children's home (Orphanage). Having

special concern and love for the poor and marginalized in society, the Hospital has extended its

services to the community since 2008 when it first got accredited by the National Health

Insurance Authority and has since grown from seeing 18 patients a day to about 80 patients a day.

It has rapidly grown and developed into a full-fledged primary hospital, a member of the

Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), duly recognized by the District and Regional

Health Directorates as one of only two hospitals in the Gomoa-East District of the Central

Region, providing accessible, affordable, efficient, patient-centered, and safe health care for the

orphanage and staff of Village of Hope, and many people living in over thirty (30) communities

in eight (8) or more districts of the Central Region of Ghana. The Hospital is located in a

peaceful environment, in a coastal town called Gomoa-Fetteh, on the Village of Hope Campus.

We provide the highest standard of clinical expertise and nursing care. We provide rapid

assessment, intervention and treatment for numerous common and some complex conditions. At

Hope Christian Hospital, patients receive customized, individual care, with particular attention to

patient needs. The Hospital sees and interacts with over 30, 000 patients and other stakeholders a

year.
